WEST CORNWALL VERMONT DEAD POST OFFICE 1868 COVER TO ST. ALBANS VERMONT

Year:

1868
Vermont

Quite rare manuscript postmark from West Cornwall Vermont, a Dead Post Office. Scott #94 stamp on cover is damaged (see scan). Notation on left asks for letter to be returned if not called for in 10 days.  Must have been called for because there is a pencil notation that the letter was answered December 20, 1868.  ddressed to Charles Haskell in St. Albans.  Opened a bit roughly at bottom.
