CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA 1800S COVER AND LETTER- RELIGIOUS CONTENT- TWO 1-CT BANKNOTES FANCY CANCEL

Year:

1800S
South Carolina

Cover roughly opened. However, nice pair of Franklin banknotes with fancy target postmarks are undamaged. Although letter is postmarked Charleston, it was written in Savannah. Letter is from Anna Young to Mrs. Guardeau thanking her for presiding in her place at a prayer meeting. "...you are so competent in the business line and still more in prayer for GOD's presence with us and blessings upon us. My absence from the board is a trial, but it is also a Providence and I cling to the holy Cowper's definition of this word which has been a special help to me.." "Providence is but the name of an effect whose case is "GOD". Interesting reading.
