Hello and Welcome to MGJ Postal History

We are offering for sale a wide variety of covers—from stampless covers to First Day Covers, from the very old, to contemporary. While we primarily sell covers, you will also find stamps, other postal items and interesting ephemera for sale. We hope you enjoy the site and visit often. We welcome your comments.

I am a life member of the American Philatelic Society and am a member of the Society’s estate advisory service. I am also a member and volunteer at the Cardinal Spellman Philatelic Museum in Weston, Massachusetts. In addition, I am a licensed, bonded auctioneer in Massachusetts.

	VERMONT: BAKERSFIELD 1863 TEACHER CERTIFICATION DOCUMENT WITH TAX STAMP Hand-written document states: Miss Esther L. Allen having been this day duly examined and found qualified, is hereby licensed to teach school in this town for the term of one year from date Bakersfield May 5, 1863. Signed N. S. Wood, two supt. Nice historic Bakersfield collectible. Tax stamp was applied lower right corner.	$15.00
	BOSTON MASSACHUSETT 1848 POSTAL HISTORY STAMPLESS FOLDED LETTER. MERCHANTS BANK LOAN DEMAND NOTICE. Preprinted bank notice to D. Pickman, Salem, Massachusetts, that note for $1,200 plus interest is due the middle of the next month.	$15.00
	CHIPPEWA FALLS WISCONSIN #26 ON COVER. GREAT POSTMARK! Excellent, full Chippewa Falls postmark on this nice early cover to Concord, New Hampshire.	$15.00
	FRANCE - PARIS 1941 WORLD WAR II CENSOR COVER December 1941 cover from Societe Francaise d'Asurance company with German censor seal and red handstamp marks. Scott #339 stamp.	$15.00
	NEW JERSEY: LAKEHURST USS AKRON ZEPPELIN 1932 COAST-TO-COAST CACHET COVER. C-12 PLATE # SINGLE Very clean flight cover with plate number single of Scott C-12 stamp.	$15.00
	TEXAS: COTULLA 1906 POSTCARD OF ONION HARVEST WORKERS CARD HAS CREASE JUST LEFT OF CENTER AS VIEWED FROM THE FRONT. HISTORIC VALUE. Immigrant Joseph Cotulla, who was reared in Silesia, then a part of Prussia, migrated to the United States in the 1850s. He joined the Union Army in Brownsville, Texas. He lived in Atascosa County, but arrived in La Salle County in 1868] to establish what became a large ranching operation. After learning that the International-Great Northern Railroad intended to lay tracks in La Salle County, he worked to establish the town that bears his name. In 1881, Cotulla donated 120 acres of his land to the railroad, and in 1882, a depot was constructed there. In 1883, the town was granted a post office. The same year, Cotulla became the county seat by special election.	$15.00
