Written on the cover is the date July 11, 1859. Three of the four quadrants of the flap side carry a religious message. The are: When in this veile of sorrows I travail on in pain. we owe to God above Duty, fear & love. A man can gain nothing in the company of the vicious. Seal is intact. Letter was opened neatly at left.
